Mirror Masks are a product family designed for Areaware. The graphic faces are designed to appeal to a viewer from afar and then overlay onto the viewer's own face when they approach. The mirrors are made of three layers of glass, a top solid clear layer, a middle layer that is a mirror with the face graphic sandblasted and painted and a bottom layer with a keyhole cut into it for hanging.
Production
Prototypes were CNC cut with a 0.5 inch bit hence the line weight of the face marks. Initial designs were more complex and abstract but eventually pulled back to a more simplified series.
