Brittle Star is the name of a composite material consisting of zinc poured around glass spheres that create a "stained glass" like material. The name comes from the eponymous star fish which has thousands of simple eyes that cover it's body.

In March of 2018, the first Brittle Star suspension lights were shown in a grouping of 5 along at Collectible Design Fair in Brussels, Belgium with weavings by Mimi Jung at a booth curated by Sight Unseen.
