The Arm Vase was introduced to compliment the Leg Bowl. The factory producing the Leg Bowl was first used to produce the Stacking Planter, the design of which was specifically tailored for the process of slip casting. However after visiting the factory, it was revealed that this particular factory specialized in the production of nativity figurines. The decision was made to design for the strengths of the factory and shift from geometric forms to figurative forms.
The arms use a 1/6th scale, the same as a Barbie doll so that doll clothing factories could produce accessories using their standard sizes.
